Free Health Clinic

Our Free Health Clinic provides primary and urgent care to the under and uninsured residents of Chicago’s south side neighborhoods. The clinic is staffed by volunteer medical staff and practitioners. Services include chronic disease management, mental health, urgent care, minor laboratory testing, pharmaceutical administration, physicals and referrals.

Bread Truck

The Bread Truck is our “soup kitchen on wheels” that drives to eight (8) different locations around the neighborhood to battle hunger by providing meals to under-served community members. Meals are donated to The Port Ministries from various parishes, partners and corporations then distributed six days a week through the Bread Truck.

  • Our BREAD TRUCK provides over 134,000 meals per year. Monday through Friday: 5pm – 8pm, Saturday: 11am – 2pm

After School Program

Four days a week, elementary and middle school students from our neighborhood attend our After-School Program to receive free tutoring, mentoring, homework help and social activities. Our staff works closely with parents to provide education support that compliments the current educational goals of neighborhood schools.

  • Our AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM provides a safe learning space to over 60 students per year. Tuesday through Friday: 3pm – 5pm

People’s School

The People’s School provides different series of free workshops led by volunteers from the community for the community. Workshops vary in subject matter, interest, need and audience. They focus on producing tangible outcomes and develop positive relationships via a shared interest. The goal is to allow all who partake in a workshop an opportunity to acknowledge their individual importance and explore various subjects and interests in a safe, nurturing space.

  • The PEOPLE’S SCHOOL provides over 60 free workshops to over 450 participants per year. Schedule varies.

Hope House

Hope House is our intentional covenant community where residents are young professionals, from all walks of life, that provide over twenty-hours of service to the organization per month. Residents are selected via an application and interview process. Selections are based on candidates experience, community diversity, and desire to actively participate in spiritual communal living.

  • The HOPE HOUSE provides living space for eight young professionals dedicated to serving our community.

The Art Studios Program is where our mission comes to life visually. Members hold art residency, maintain studio spaces, provide People’s School workshops, develop mission friendly art projects and curate our gallery spaces. We hope to inspire and empower residents to develop their own artistic voice.

Through prayer, reflection, service and visits to our partner organizations, we aim to provide the opportunity to broaden one’s awareness surrounding social justice concerns and deepen one’s spirituality.
