How our Needs are Met

As a “Place of Prayer and Hope”, prayer is at the center of all the work we do.
Our hope is in the Lord… the hope He alone gives is the hope we share.

At Port Ministries, there is always the awareness that…

We have been called to be part of something that involves true “giving” from lives and hearts together…

We are part of something that is bigger than any one of us or all of us together…

We are part of something that involves answering a “call of the heart” from the Lord and a real sense of “stepping out in faith” in response to Him…

We are responding to something welling up within us that is born out of the action of the Holy Spirit - a growing compassion and desire to love and help others, especially those who are in need…

In order to answer His call, we are placing ourselves “at risk” and therefore “in His hands” along with the poor knowing that if God does not come through for us, what we know as “His will” cannot be fulfilled, for, the trouble and need is too big, too much for us…

We come to know that we are all poor and in need of God's saving love…

As He has loved us, and continues to love us with all his love, all of the time… we can't help but respond by wanting to love Him more.

We do that by simply loving Him in the poor ones, who mirror Him in His hour of greatest need. We want to stand with Him… (see the 25th chapter of the Gospel of St. Matthew)

So, we pray, we trust and we serve Him one day at a time.

God's care, presence and love is revealed in many different ways,

but, there's one way He makes Himself so vivid… through YOU

YOU are the answer to our prayers and YOU are a gift as you respond to the cry of the poor…

YOU are the evidence of the Hope God gives...
... through the giving of your time, efforts, open hearts and open hands as volunteers…
... through the giving of the necessary foods, supplies and monetary donations that blesses and sustains us…
... through remembering us and our poor in your daily prayers.
YOU, the volunteers and benefactors, are how our needs are met.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing and answering!
